What is inside

01 - Foundation

Who we are

Romania Connect is the Romanian-Austrian business platform - a bilateral association that strengthens economic cooperation between Romania and Austria by connecting decision-makers, entrepreneurs and institutional stakeholders.

Positioning line

The Romanian-Austrian Business Platform.

Actionable business intelligence for confident Romanian-Austrian market decisions.

Mission

Empower Romanian businesses to enter, navigate and grow in the Austrian ecosystem through trusted connections, practical knowledge and hands-on support.

Vision

A thriving cross-border business community where Romanian companies are natural partners in the Austrian economy.

The three things we do

The through-line for all copy: we exist to turn conversations into deals, not to run events for their own sake. Show the work, not just the intention.
03 - Colour

Colour

Royal blue leads, deep navy grounds, Romanian red accents - sparingly. Light greys and hairlines create the clean, spacious feel. Red is a spark, never a field.

How to use them together

The Romanian tricolor (blue #0033A0, yellow #FCD116, red #CE1126) appears only as a thin flag bar or small accent detail - it is a national reference, not a colour palette for layouts.

Logo artwork note: the supplied master logo files use their own fixed colours - dark grey #4c5356 for the wordmark and #e52421 for the ring device. Never recolour the logo files to match the palette above; place them exactly as supplied.
04 - Typography

Typography

Two typefaces, no exceptions. Familjen Grotesk for headings, Arimo for body. Both are freely available, so every team member can install them.

Body - Arimo

Romania Connect connects decision-makers, entrepreneurs and institutional stakeholders for meaningful dialogue and cross-border growth. Body copy stays in Arimo at a comfortable reading size, with short paragraphs and generous line height. It is calm, legible and never crowded.

Substitutes: when Familjen Grotesk or Arimo are unavailable (e.g. a locked-down email client), fall back to a clean sans - Arial for body. Never use serif, condensed, or decorative fonts.
05 - Voice & tone

Voice & tone

Sober, corporate, confident - and warm. We sound like a trusted senior partner: direct, community-led, action-oriented. We show results, not adjectives.

Principles

Always

  • Plain hyphens "-", everywhere.
  • Short paragraphs, generous white space.
  • Bullets only when listing people, topics or outcomes.
  • Full, correct event names, dates and venues.

Never

  • Long dashes (em/en), exclamation marks, emoji in official copy.
  • Buzzword soup or filler corporate-speak.
  • Repeated kicker labels, 01/02/03 markers, hero-metric strips.
  • Engagement bait or "date TBD" when the fact is known.
Anti-slop rules (from the site build): no repeated kicker labels, no numbered 01/02/03 decoration, no big metric strips in the hero, restrained accent use. Clean and spacious wins.
06 - Photography & imagery

Photography & imagery

The brand is photography-led. Images do the atmospheric work; text and logo sit cleanly on top. Real business settings, real people, real cities.

Style

Text on a photo - one flat image

When a visual needs a photo behind headline text (event graphics, road show cards), it is produced as a single flat PNG with the photo behind and the text on top - never two separate files, never a web page, and never a background that already contains text.

AI-generated images carry mood only. They cannot render text, dates or logos reliably. Anything that must be readable or exact - dates, names, the logo - is set as real type on the branded template, not generated.

Photo don'ts

07 - Graphic elements

Graphic elements

A small, consistent kit of shapes gives every piece the same handwriting.

The tricolor bar

A thin blue-yellow-red bar used as a subtle national signature - a foot on a card, a divider, a small detail. Keep it thin and short; it accents, it never dominates.

The ring device

The overlapping red and white rings that form the O in ROMANIA are the brand's one expressive mark. Do not extract it and scatter it as decoration - it lives in the logo.

Hairlines and space

Thin #E4E8EF rules separate sections. Space is a design element in its own right - when in doubt, add breathing room rather than another graphic.

Eyebrow labels

Small uppercase, letter-spaced royal-blue labels ("Road Show 2026", "Business Circle") sit above headlines to orient the reader. One per block, never repeated as decoration.

08 - Stationery & email signature

Stationery & email signature

Business cards, letterhead and signatures are small pieces but they are often the first brand touch a partner sees - keep them as clean as everything else.

Business cards

Letterhead

Email signature

Keep it to plain text plus the logo - no photo banners, no motivational quotes, no social icon walls.

09 - Presentations

Presentations

Delivered as clean, spacious decks - cover, then one clear idea per slide.

Decks are produced as PDF (plus editable source) and land in the shared "Romania Connect" Drive folder, subfolder Presentations.
10 - Print & press releases

Print & press releases

Print materials (flyers, one-pagers, roll-ups)

Press releases

A press release is formal and factual. Structure:

Standard boilerplate: Romania Connect is the Romanian-Austrian business platform, an Austrian association (ZVR 1293187199, registered in Vienna) that strengthens economic cooperation between Romania and Austria. It connects decision-makers, entrepreneurs and institutional stakeholders for meaningful dialogue, informed decisions and cross-border growth. www.romaniaconnect.at
11 - Invitations

Invitations

Invitations feel considered and exclusive - many of our formats are invitation-only.

Event registration link for digital invitations: www.romaniaconnect.at/#events - each event has its own Register button.
12 - Websites & landing pages

Websites & landing pages

Clean, spacious, photography-led. The site sets the standard the rest of the brand follows.

Governance: anything created for the live site is a preview only. Publishing to romaniaconnect.at always requires Sergiu's approval - never treat a draft as live until he has approved it.

Forms

Membership application, event registration, newsletter and contact forms all share one calm, trustworthy style.

Data care: never ask members for sensitive personal data beyond what a form needs (no ID numbers or payment data in free-text). Form submissions are handled through the secure backend into a private sheet - treat member data as confidential.
14 - Social media

Social media

LinkedIn is our primary channel and has its own playbook. Instagram keeps its own conventions (hashtags are fine there).

15 - Accessibility & file management

Accessibility & file management

Contrast that works

Keep text on a background that is genuinely easy to read - navy or ink text on white/grey, white text on navy/blue. Avoid light grey text on white, or red text on navy.

File naming

Keep files findable months later. Suggested pattern:
